Acts 17:2 Ministries was launched to meet a huge need that confronts the Church today: that is, how to evangelize people of the 21st century. Due to the influence of postmodernism, people today have several issues on which they need clarification before they can feel comfortable believing anything at all. 

For example :

•How can I know anything for sure?
•How do I know the Bible is reliable?
•How do I know God exists?
•How do I know Christianity is true?
•How do I know that I have "the right interpretation" of the Bible?

There has always been a need for "pre-evangelism." Pre-evangelism introduces people to their need for the Gospel; yet as cultures change, people's views on the world and even themselves have changed.  Further, many people do not understand the Gospel, even as they claim to be Christian.  Sadly, when asked, many people say they are going to heaven because

•I'm a good person.
•I try my best.
•I went to church.
•I was baptized.
•I am a "good Christian."

Beyond this, any college student can attest to the fact that Christianity is under attack in our univeristies. Therefore, we want to provide a way to reach college age students with the Gospel and a message that will combat the atheism and postmodernism being preached by many professors. For example, what do we say when a "Christian English" teacher says, "I don't believe in absolute truth, and it is my goal that by the end of this course, you won't either"? Many students will lose their faith in college, and it is time for believers to stand up and say enough is enough.

In short, we at Acts 17:2 Ministires want to equip more believers to share their faith effectively.  Not enough Christians today are sharing their faith as Jesus commissioned us in large part because of fear--the fear of rejection or of not knowing what to say. This leads to a lack confidence. But we also know that "competence breeds confidence." As believers become better equipped to share their faith, they will become emboldened to proclaim Christ to a lost and dying world. Therefore, here at Acts 17:2 that is our mission

To train people to share their faith in the 21st century.
